THE CRAMPS - LIVE FESTIMAD 1998 - RARE VINYL IMPORT ALBUM.
Lux Interior (Erick Lee Purkhiser) and Poison Ivy (Kristy Marlana Wallace) met in 1972, in light of their common artistic interests and a shared devotion to record collecting, they decided to form the Cramps.
Lux took his stage name from a car advert, and Ivy claimed to have received hers in a dream she had.
In 1975, they moved to New York very soon entering into the early CBGB's punk scene with other emerging acts like Television and The Ramones
Over the following three decades the Cramps went on to release some fantastic material, shaking off their original B. Movie image and emerging as giants of the punk circuit, an array of members moved through their ranks but the Cramps always held true to their initial ideals.
Sadly it ended for the Cramps in February 2009 When Lux Interior died at the Glendale Memorial Hospital after suffering an aortic dissection which, contrary to initial reports about a pre-existing condition was still a sudden, shocking and unexpected turn of events.
