ONE WAY SYSTEM - THE BEST OF - ORIGINAL IMPORT ALBUM.

The original One Way System line-up consisted of Gavin Whyte (vocals) a distinctive punk voice if ever there was one, Bob Grant (Drums), Craig Halliday (guitar), and Gaz Buckley (bass). After forming in Lancashire in 79 the band had some success in the indie charts in the very early 80s.

They were enthusiastically followed by local punks with many getting 'ONE WAY SYSTEM' painted on their jackets and tattooed on their arms, the first ever record released by One Way System was "Stab the Judge" a rousing punk singalong and high point at most of their live gigs.

The band by now were leaders on the street punk scene along with bands like Blitz and The Abrasive Wheels, Their 7" Give Us A Future was an independent smash and this was swiftly followed by their absolute punk classic Jerusalem.

One Way System became Anagram Records's first ever signing with the release of the All Systems Go LP, and the band were featured on the front cover of UK national music paper Sounds.

Between 82 and 84, the band had no less than five Indie Chart hit singles and two Top Ten albums, a U.S. West Coast tour alongside The Circle Jerks in 84 undertaken to expose the band to an American audience was abandoned when Circle Jerks vocalist Keith Morris broke his neck, although the band managed to salvage one date with Suicidal Tendencies their moment was lost, however the band remained signed to Anagram until they split in early 86.

The original band may now be gone but they are fondly remembered and rightly so, this 17 track collection is a fitting tribute to a truly great and original punk band, it's crammed with long lost early 80's Street Punk Classics...!
