Listen carefully here, there's a slight case of a mis-match, so you don't want to judge this particular book by its cover. The album is one thing, and the records are another.
Let's start with the album, which is for the RCA Victor four-record set No. P-148, titled "An Album of Outstanding Arrangements on Victor Records" by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra. However, as already hinted at, only one of the four original records is in the album. The other three 10-inch 78 rpm records appear to be randomly selected records by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra. They are instrumental unless a vocal credit is given (in parentheses), and - starting with the one that belongs with the album - they are individually numbered as follows:
RCA Victor # 20-1566 -- "Little Brown Jug" and "Moonlight Serenade."
Bluebird # B-10139 -- "(Gotta Get Some) Shut-Eye" (vocal by Marion Hutton) and "How I'd Like to Be with You in Bermuda" (vocal by Ray Eberle).
Bluebird # B-11315 -- "This Time the Dream's on Me" (vocal by Ray Eberle) and "Says Who? Says You, Says I!" (vocal by Marion Hutton, Tex Beneke and the Modernaires).
Bluebird # B-11187 -- "I Guess I'll Have to Dream the Rest" (vocal by Ray Eberle and the Modernaires) and "Take the 'A' Train."
The records look to be on average in about VG+ condition, still nice and shiny and with very little visible surface wear of any great significance. I've played them all on my Audio-Technica turntable, and there are no skips or jumps, and mostly just typical light background noise, with some occasional pops or clicks or light ticking. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering devices and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment.
The album itself is in solid and functional condition, with the pocket seams intact, but some surface rubbing and edge wear on the cover.
International Buyers – Please Note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. Customs fees are normally charged by the shipping company or collected when you pick the item up. These fees are not additional shipping charges. We won't under-value merchandise or mark the item as a gift on customs forms. Doing that is against U.S. and international laws. COMBINED SHIPPING: See our seller list for other interesting and unusual items, in fact bid on several and you might save on shipping and handling. If you buy multiple items, and if it's feasible and cost-effective for us to ship the items together, we will gladly consider requests to combine shipping at a reduced cost. Just e-mail us, and we can provide combined shipping cost estimates on a case-by-case basis. Depending on weight and other considerations, we typically offer full shipping rate for the first item, then 50 cents or $1.00 per item. And if you are purchasing multiple items, please make the payment as a single payment, rather than trying to pay for each item separately. Oh, and this may sound obvious, but we can't reduce the shipping charges for items on which we offer free shipping.
