Note the presence of the fine clarinetist and alto sax man Garvin Bushell, who had made his first recordings only six months earlier with Mamie Smith's Jazz Hounds.
Bushell went on to have a long and distinguished career in jazz, recording with Johnny Dunn, Ethel Waters, Fletcher Henderson, Edith Wilson, Lucille Hegamin, Sam Wooding, Lena Wilson, Perry Bradford, Jabbo Smith, Fats Waller, James P. Johnson, Bessie Smith, Cab Calloway, Stuff Smith, Victoria Spivey, Chick Webb, Ella Fitzgerald, Slim Gaillard, Bunk Johnson, Wild Bill Davison, Rex Stewart, Wilbur De Paris, King Curtis and even John Coltrane.
