John Selway and Elliot Taub's slow-pounding disco project steps straight outta New York for yet another excursion into the transcendental mysticism of thick arpeggios and bombastic chords over sluggish, hard-hitting drums on the one. "Cardboard Wings" is a perfect study in the beauty and sleaze of disco's most electronic moments, without being concerned with aping a particular sound. Adultnapper gets busy on the flip with a more gentle version that lets sparse piano replace throbbing synths for a more haunting piece of warm-up business. When the tempo has to be kept simmering there's plenty of use to be found right here.
