The Chup EP joins the dots between tech house, dub techno and Berghain associated sounds. The squelchy pops and comical sound effects that identify a lot of Masomenos' music can be heard on "Dilderano", which wades a little deeper into the techier end of house music. The EP also sees newcomer Muanda team up with Cedric Dekowski & Felix Reifenberg, who have so far only released the one EP on 87 Records. Sharing the A-side is Muanda's first production "Brown Paper Bags" and it's an atmospheric one, which pitches delaying dub stabs against a constant groove, spearheaded by a percussive thwack that sounds like it was made hitting a hollow PVC pipe. On the B-side, Thilo Dietrich collaborates with Muanda to make "John Delan", a murky and dubbed out piece of watery minimal techno.
