Mothers of Invention Zappa 1967/8 WE'RE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY A1 B1 Verve
I bought this LP new in 1968 and am now selling it as my vinyl record
collection has to go - not enough room to house it and I can't keep
dragging it around when I move - it's too heavy!!
Interestingly the vinyl is dated 1967 and the sleeve is dated 1968
On the Verve Records label - MADE UNDER LICENCE FROM METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER INC. OWNERS OF THE TRADE MARK 'VERVE'
Matrix numbers: Side 1 - V5045 A1
Side 2 - V5045 B1
TRACK LISTING and audio review - I have been very critical - pump up the volume and turn down the treble and it sounds great.

MONO!!!
THE COVER is in overall very good condition. The laminate is still very shiney both outside and inside. There is wear on the corners.
The front: is laminated. There are a few wrinkles at the edges and the opening edge looks a bit grubby where the laminate stops short of going right to the edge by approx 3 mm.
The spine: is in very good condition
The back: is in very good condition, again the grubby edge where the laminate stops. A tiny section of the vinyl has lifted on the right hand side next to the spine approx 4cm from the top.
The inside: is so shiney on both sides that it is very hard to photograph without getting reflections. Over the years the glue has leached out of the folded over edge at the top causing the inside top edges to stick together. Consequently there is some damage along these edges. Please see the photos. There is also an initial sticker at the bottom right of the left hand side.
THE VINYL: spindle marks on both sides and another initial sticker on side 1. I've played it all the way through on both sides and there are no jumps or sticking points. See audio review above by Track Listings. There are sleeve scuffs and surface scratches on both sides. Side One has a long scratch where the needle has gone knocked across the surface. [I used to get so annoyed with my hippie visitors who didn't look after my vinyl and banned several people from going anywhere near my stereo system.] Also a couple of smaller scratches. However none of this makes any difference to the way it plays. This was always my favourite Zappa album and I really bought into the philosophy and his political comments.
