ELTON JOHN GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD

Issue : RARE EARLIEST EVER PRESS        Label : DJM        Catalogue No : DJLPD 1001
Matrix : DJLPD 1001 A2 / B2 / C2 / D2 - TRANSLUCENT RED VINYL
This is an exceptionally rare UK 1st press of ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ by Elton John. This is the rarest and earliest A2 / B2 / C2 / D2 matrix. It is hard enough to find one side with a ‘2’ matrix, but to find all four sides is exceptionally rare. As with all the early presses, when held to the light the vinyl is translucent red. It is complete with the 1st press gatefold sleeve and the original inner sleeves.
The records are in Very Good condition. The heavy vinyl is a rich, deep colour with a stunning bright gloss. There is no whitening of the grooves or any sign of heavy play at all. There are just a few very light marks on each side. The original matt Track labels are still completely clean. The colour is solid, the silver and yellow text is sharp and there is only the slightest spindle wear. Both records are complete with their original inner sleeves.
Both records sit completely flat on the turntable and when played the sound is Excellent; bold, vibrant and extremely clear. There is excellent separation throughout, the voice is sharp and there are just moments of this light noise in the quieter moments. This does nothing to spoil the enjoyment of the album at any point, it sounds superb.
The tri-gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition. This sleeve is sensational. It has held the original box shape, the spine is still firm, not flattened like so many we see. There is just the slightest corner wear. The colours are superb, there are no marks or scuffs, the text is sharp and the edges are all firm, even the outer opening edge. The inside is exceptionally bright and the back of the sleeve is like new.   _gsrx_vers_526 (GS 6.6.6 (526))
