Launching a new imprint that moves away from the de rigeur Cadenza output to explore some older pathways in the Luciano canon, Basaec finds the Swiss megalith calling upon the kind of tricky electronica found on the earlier Lucien-N-Luciano albums. "Cadenza" is all arpeggios, as starlit tributaries of lush melodics wind their way through a delicate arrangement of broken percussion, keeping the machine soul on high while getting decidedly psychoactive in the process. "Stranger" is a tauter piece that deploys murmuring slithers of synth and bass in amongst a sparse, popping beat to create a brooding, melancholic finished article.
