ROLLING STONES No. 2
Label : Decca Cat No : LK 4661
Matrix : XARL 6619 1A // XARL 6620 1A Issue : UK 1st Press Mothers : 1/1
This is the UK 1st press of No.2 by The Rolling Stones. This earliest press has the rare 1A//1A matrix, the earliest and superior sound quality 1/1 mothers, the heavy original 60's vinyl and the original handling inner sleeve. The vinyl is complete with the earliest 1st press James Upton 'blind man' laminated sleeve.
The vinyl is in Very Good condition. Both sides have a superb mirrored gloss, there are however a couple of needle marks and a few hairlines on both sides. The original plain red grooved Decca labels are exceptionally bright and completely clean. The colour is solid and unworn, the text is sharp and there is just the slightest spindle wear.
The sound quality is Very Good. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is still rich and warm. There are a couple of pops and a little noise but it is still clear with Very Good clarity and audio separation. It can still be listened to and enjoyed throughout.
The sleeve is in Excellent condition. The image is sharp, the text is clear and the laminate has a superb mirrorlike shine. There are a couple of light laminate creases. The back has slight discolouration but it is extremely bright and the text is sharp. The whole cover still feels solid and the spine is firm with clear text.
