This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

The vinyl has only some light needle marks to each disc. BUT after listening to her ALL THE WAY THROUGH, I only found some light occasional background crackle, with the odd light pop-which I am sure would improve with just a gentle professional clean. I noticed a slight skip, but then played over the same section with a heavier stylus and no problem :)

The labels:
EX. All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
NO 'EMI Recording..' text to sides 3 & 4.
There are only very light spindle marks to each label, these can only be seen when angling towards the light....

"Mfd in the U.K." to each of the labels.

Certainly one of the best I have seen in a very long time...

NUMBERED: 0067192 It is an EARLY first run, with TOP loading.
 Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold
The spine remains strong and clear, with barely any rubbing!
Superb cover-creamy white, with just 1 very small crescent of spidering and maybe just the two small fingers of spidering from the seams of this glorious laminated gatefold cover.
The single point I can see is a small water stain to the bottom of the spine-that really is it!!
SIMPLY LOVELY CONDITION

Correct MONO cover as it doesn't have the printing of  Stereo to the back top right.
GLORIOUS and clean on the inside of the gatefold.

AGAIN, I AM BEING INCREDIBLY CRITICAL!!!

ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING!!!


Inners:  EX-!! Original BLACK inners. They are both INCREDIBLY well looked after.
Just carry some feathering to their openings and one has a small nick to the window and the other has a tiny split of just under 4cm to the bottom-that is it...they really are in SUPERB CONDITION.
They have the die-cut corners and the'windows' on one side to each.
THEY ARE ALL ORIGINAL-NOT REPRO!

They are NEAR MINT AND ORIGINAL.
They DON'T have any pin-holes around their edges...Which was quite typical for the Beatles fans to pin their beau's up on their bedroom wall.
