Original USA pressing LP, "The Second John Denver Radio Show".  RCA Records DJL1-0683.

Promotional music & interview for radio station use.  This 1975 “2nd Radio Show” is the second of the three promotional “Radio Show” albums recorded by John.  These albums were distributed to radio stations only (never available to the public) and were intended to be played and then destroyed after use.
The format is casual with John telling great stories about the songs that are played. He starts out by telling us that he’s recording this from his home in Aspen and we then hear the first song, “Back Home Again.” He then talks about going back home when he was a kid and tells the story of “Grandma’s Feather Bed”. He then speaks of Annie and what she means to him and we hear “Annie’s Song” followed by “Thank God I’m A Country Boy.” John then talks about his days on the farm in Oklahoma and his Uncle Dean for whom he wrote the song “Matthew”. Then a story about how he came to write the beautiful song “Eclipse” while in the San Fernando Valley area (while performing at the Universal Amphitheater). Then “It’s Up to You” and “On the Road” with a story about being on the road. Then “Cool An’ Green An’ Shady” followed by JD telling us about a song he wrote for a Disney film - “Sweet Surrender.” John then proceeds to juggle! He wants us to use our imagination, and on that note, plays “The Music Is You” about how music creates pictures that tell stories. He wraps it up by telling the story of how he had lost his 1910 Gibson guitar, which had been given to him by his beloved Grandma Swope when he was just 12 years old. It disappeared for 4 or 5 years and then he found it.  He then proceeds to sing the beautiful song “This Old Guitar” live.
