Up for auction with no reserve is a very rare, private press double lp set, truly MINT, factory sealed, piece of music history. This is the first appearance of The Carpenters on record! The press run from my research was only 300 to 500 copies. The Carpenters went on to huge fame as a soft rock duo, at this time they were a young, hip, Jazz band! And a really good one consisting of Richard Carpenter on piano, Karen Carpenter on drums and their friend on tuba! They were called The Richard Carpenter Trio at this time, and they won first place, combo division at this concert. The two songs on this record are "Iced Tea" and "The Girl From Ipanema" you can hear both tracks on YouTube. They won a recording contract with RCA Records with their performance at this concert, but were dropped soon after, because RCA had doubts about the success of tuba Jazz. This record is what started The Carpenters career and the tracks are quite good. This record is a true, factory sealed mint copy, nice and flat, no warps. Shrink wrap is intact and clean, except for a 1/2 inch piece missing from  the bottom left, back cover corner. See photos for other track listings. Spines are in great shape too! Record will be securely packed in two layers of cardboard LP mailers. Ships 2-3 days from payment, ships worldwide via global shipping program only. Cost varies by location. SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS, I am putting up more private press Jazz LPs and more of these battle of the bands double albums. All from a Los Angeles collection.
