The Beatles
PLEASE PLEASE ME
UK LP
RARE DECCA PRESSING

This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker,  New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.

Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got throught the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

These RARE DECCA pressings were only released for a short period as Parlophone were swamped with orders at the end of 1963, so they asked DECCA to take on some pressing.
These copies are getting increasingly very hard to find
