THE BEATLES
Abbey Road
UNUSUAL COVER
NO MAJESTY
Fantastic 1969 Beatles UK LP. This was the Beatles' 12th LP, released on the 26th September. It was also the last official Beatles release that was recorded by them. Staying at number one for almost 18 consecutive weeks, it was only knocked off by The Rolling Stones' "Let It Bleed."
Catalogue number: Apple PCS 7088
Matrix Number Side 1: 749-2
Matrix Number Side 2: 750-1
Mothers/Stampers Side 1: MRH @ 3 O'clock 5 @ 9 O'clock
Mothers/Stampers Side 2: ARR @ 3 O'clock 9 @ 9 O'clock
Vinyl: G. The vinyl has quite a few marks, making her lightly skip on track 7, side 2. There is also a long line to side 2, which creats a revolutionary pop on track 6, side 2.
As you can imagine, there is background noise throughout.
She could benefit with a proffessional clean.
FLAT AS THE DAY SHE WAS BORN
REMAINS SOLID
Labels: VG+. Lovely, dark labels in line with the first pressings. Light spindle marks, visible when angled to the light, with just some light wear to the central holes.
PLEASE SEE THE DETAILED IMAGES PROVIDED
NO "Sold in the UK..." text
The outer text begins: "Apple Records all rights.." "Mfd. in U.K." text. VERY NICE LABELS!!!
The last credit for "The End" leaves out "HER MAJESTY" on the Side 2 label...Early press.
Cover: G+. HERE IS THE UNUSUAL COVER:
It carries a catalogue number of 1C 062-04 243 to the top right on the back...BUT the unusual thing is the credit for being made by Garrod & Lofthouse to the bottom left corner on the back, has been blacked out at the printers....I have never seen this before.
There is wear to this cover, with some rubbing to the spine and cellotape marks where there was some tape to the top and bottom of the seem....NOT SPLIT THOUGH!
PLEASE SEE THE DETAILED IMAGES FOR YOURSELVES-I AM NOT HIDING ANYTHING-AND NOTE THAT STRANGE BLANKED OUT CREDIT TOO...
Inner: G-. Original BLACK inner, without the window-as was normal for foreign presses. But does carry tape repairs to each side.
ALL IN ALL, THIS WOULD MAKE A GOOD FILLER FOR ANY COLLECTION AND IS PRICED AS SUCH TO SELL.
Strange foriegn cover with blanked out credit, original black foriegn inner, but a UK pressed slab of vinyl.
