London's Moses Boyd has only recently surfaced on the scene, but already his Exodus label has gained the attention of online channels such as Boiler Room. The debut release from both man and label is helmed by the supremely jazzy "Rye Lane Shuffle", a wild and loose broken beat sort of juggler with plenty of energy and grit. The B-side "Drum Dance" goes deeper into the percussive twists, and adds something of a 'worldly' vibe to its bass tones and melodies. All in all, this is a pretty delicious pair of jazz-dance tunes, and a must have for fans of the whole Gilles Peterson dynasty...
