THE BEATLES

Title : A Hard Days Night       Label : Parlophone      Cat No : PMC 1230

Matrix : XEX 481-3N / 482-3N      Issue : UK 1st Press

This is the UK 1st press of 'A Hard Days Night' by The Beatles. This scarce 1st press has the earliest bold wide type and the original 'The Parlophone Co Ltd,' 'Recording first published 1964' and 'Sold in UK' label text. It has the polylined Emitex inner sleeve and the earliest original 'patents pending' Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve.

The record is in Very Good condition. The vinyl has a high gloss and the grooves show no sign of heavy play, there are however a few light marks on both sides and a small needle mark on Side 1. On playing the sound is rich and warm. It plays through well, with just a little noise and a few clicks on the mark. The black and yellow Parlophone label is completely clean. The black is bold, the yellow is bright and the text is sharp. There is a little spindle wear. The record is complete with its original Emitex inner sleeve.

The flipback sleeve is in Very Good condition. The earliest heavy card is solid and the colours are extremely bright. The image is still very sharp. There is slight edge wear and a couple of small spines creases. The back is clean with just a little discolouration. The whole cover is still extremely solid and the spine is firm with clear black text on a clean white background.
