Six years on from their debut, it still sounds like much of the rest of the pop and rock world could learn something from the chutzpah of Sleigh Bells, the band who dare to both more noisily abrasive and more melodiously sweet than most would countenance, often both at once. Yet this fourth album shows an ability to branch out from the excess and maximalism that they've made their trademark, with vocalist Alexis Krauss' charismatic croon to the fore and '80s pop, hip-hop and metal shapes cohering into a technicolor firestorm worth being dazzled by.
