This is the UK 1st Press of 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' by The Beatles. The vinyl has the 1st press 'Sold In UK' and 'Gramophone Company' label text and the earliest XEX 637-1//638-1 matrix. The original Peter Blake cut-out is completely intact and the vinyl is housed in the scarce original red and white inner sleeve. It is complete with the original laminated inner flipback Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve. The sleeve is the rare wide spine design.

The vinyl is in EXCELLENT condition. The vinyl has a sensational jet black gloss, every track gleams. The grooves still have their original definition, there is just one tiny mark and a few wispy light hairlines.

The label is also in superb, EXCELLENT condition. The black is perfect, the yellow and silver text are immaculate and there is just light spindle wear.

The sound quality is EXCELLENT. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is exceptionally rich and vibrant. There are moments of the very slightest noise but this is insignificant, there is fabulous clarity and audio separation throughout.

It comes complete with the 'Peter Blake' inner in MINT condition. 

The scarce red and white inner sleeve is in NEAR MINT condition. This inner in this condition is so rare, it is solid, the white is crisp and bright and the red is vivid. The edges are solid with NO edge splits or tears. 

The rare wide spine Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold Mono laminated sleeve is in NEAR MINT condition. I will try to express how fabulous this sleeve is - the laminate has a stunning mirrored shine, the colours are vivid and the whole of the sleeve is completely solid and flat. The only sign of age is the tiniest corner wear. The inside gleams like new, the laminate creaks when opened and it is in sensational bright and clean shape. The flipbacks are fully intact and sealed. The spine is very firm with clear text. The back cover is also exceptionally clean and bright. The edges are sensational, solid, firm and completely unworn.
