This Glaswegian duo may hark back to the indie-rock of the '90s. with powerful frontwoman Stina Tweeddale's hollerin' tonsils - equal part country-style lilting and abrasive - bringing to mind Kristen Hersh and Kim Deal, Yet these are more than merely flattering comparisons, and their guitar-driven swagger on this second opus is possessed of enough youthful energy to render such concerns irrelevant. The indelible pop suss of these ditties is balanced out by a heavier and more full-on delivery than their debut, attacking both ampstacks and sensibilities with a grunge-transcending assault as sweet and primal as their moniker.
