Heavily inspired by the BBC's Radiophonic workshops of the 60s and 70s, Belbury Poly aka Jim Jupp is a judicious purveyor of experimental British music. His Ghost Box label has been a breath of fresh air since the early 00s, which pretty much makes the whole label one massive gust of wind, and it's not often that he puts out a full-blown album so this is kind of a special treat for all parties involved. These 11 tunes are all you need to satisfy your vintage drum machine withdrawals, so don't go looking for some stupidly priced B-sides on Discogs when you got this badboy at your disposal. Also, the thing is, the album also acts as a gorgeous sort of soundtrack, a collection of electronic oddities that tell a story through their quirkiness and inherent distrust of anything too formal or generic. Wonderful.
