Why purchase from AnalogParadise?

We love, enjoy and have collected LPs for over 50 years now. We have sold records internationally for over 35 years. We have sold on eBay since 1998. Our feedback rating is excellent. Over 90% of our customers are repeat buyers. We pride ourselves on superb customer service, accurate product descriptions, professional packaging using high-quality shipping materials, low auction starting prices, and rapid shipping.

Records can provide fantastic, state-of-the-art sound quality, however, just like all other formats, they are not a perfect medium: very few records play perfectly without any surface noise.

IF you're looking for perfection, we wish you the best of luck, but PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Also, please note: ANYTHING GRADED LESS THAN EXCELLENT WILL PLAY WITH MORE SURFACE NOISE.

How we grade:  All LPs are graded visually, under careful inspection by collector/dealers, with many years' experience at LP evaluation.  Some of the most sought-after (and/or more questionable-looking) LPs will be play-graded on a fine 2-channel analogue system.  IF the LP has been play-graded, that will be stated in the listing - - but in any case, all LPs are carefully scrutinized, and described to the best of our abilities. We do realize, of course, that a visual estimation can be mistaken - - in that unfortunate case, we plead humanity - - we are not perfect, either - - and offer our apologies, in that hopefully-rare instance where this occurs.

We do not automatically down-grade an LP for paper-rubs or light scuffs - -  only for scratches.  It has been our experience that often-times a scuff or paper-rub, or a discoloration in the vinyl might not sound at all. A further distinction is made between feel-able scratches, and those light scratches which are visible, but cannot be felt by careful, gentle probing. Any LP graded ABOVE the grade of VG should contain only non-feel-able scratches (IF any at all). If there is a feel-able scratch on an LP side, that side should be graded VG or lower.

RECORD JACKETS  We do not assign letter-grades to record jackets, preferring, instead, to simply list any particular defects, OR merits, of a particular cover. Defects would include sticker-pulls, seam-splits, cut-out holes, browning, foxing, ring-wear, or discoloration of the cover, etc. IF, on the other hand, a cover is like-new in appearance, or still has the original shrink-wrap, that, too might be mentioned.

INDIVIDUAL SIDES  We DO assign grades to EACH INDIVIDUAL SIDE of an LP; when, however, the grade assigned to each side is the same, then you will see only ONE letter-grade. When you see more than one grade given, with a slash-mark (/) between them (for example, E/- would signify that one side on an LP is excellent, and the other, excellent-minus.

BOX SETS  In the case of box sets, again, we grade EACH individual side: If you see, for example 6E/-/V+ for a grade, that would mean a four-record set, wherein six sides are graded excellent, one side, excellent-minus, and the last one, VG+...and so on.

OUR GRADING SCALE:

FS (or sealed, or factory-sealed)  A new LP, with the shrink-wrap never opened  (PLEASE NOTE): For this category only, we do not accept returns, if the LP has been opened.

E (or Ex, or Exc)  =  Excellent   This is our highest grade for a used LP.  Such an LP has been very well cared-for by a collector, and contains no scratches expected to sound. Theoretically, an LP listed in this condition should contain no more than (roughly) half-a-dozen ticks per side, often even better than some brand-new discs play out. Our E grade is the equivalent of some other dealers' NM, or possibly others' NM-minus, or yet others' A.

E- (or E-minus, or Exc-minus) This signifies that the LP is still quite well cared-for, but may contain one or two VERY light scratches, which are NOT expected to produce much surface-noise. This grade is roughly equivalent to some other dealers' NM-minus, yet others' NM-minus-minus, and yet others', A-, or A-minus.

V+ (or VG+, or Very Good-Plus)  An LP which is assigned this grade still is in VERY POSITIVE condition, with a few more light marks than an E-minus would have. A disc in this condition is expected to have some light surface-noise, however it should not be expected to interfere much with the enjoyment of the music for MOST collectors. Our V+ is roughly equivalent to some dealers' Exc-minus, some others' NM minus-minus, yet others', B+.

PLEASE NOTE: Below the above level is where we would expect the amount of surface-noise to begin to bother most collectors. If you are bothered by surface-noise, please do us, and yourself, a favor, and do not buy anything graded less than E  (EXCELLENT)

V (or VG, or Very Good):  This grade may (or may not) contain one or two feel-able scratches. It is possible, however (best-case scenario) that such an LP might tick loudly for, perhaps, half a minute or less, and yet, the rest of the LP might play flawlessly. We would generally encourage only those collectors who consider yourselves pretty tolerant of surface-noise to pursue an LP in this condition.  Our V is roughly equivalent to some dealers' VG or VG-minus, and yet others' B, or B-minus.  You will not generally see us list records below this condition, unless they are very scarce and/or desirable.

In decreasing desirability, the remainder of our grading scale would be V- (or VG-, or Very Good minus), then G+, or Good-Plus, then G (or Good, which really ISN'T so good (we didn't originate this grading-system, by the way - - it has been in conventional use since the early 1970s)  G-minus, or Good-minus, F (or Fair) and finally, P (or Poor) . If you see records listed in VG-minus or lower condition in our listings, they all describe what we consider to be just a stop-gap copy - - just so that the collector can say that he DOES have a copy of the title...or, that he/she "bought it for the cover".

One more note about grading:  We do occasionally buy records for our own collections from ebay, and have noted a trend among SOME of the dealers to list every disc as being in VG+ condition. Many times we buy these, hoping that they meet our own standards for that condition; some of them seem to have no audible defects at all, but others turn out to be in execrable condition. Our advice is to GET TO KNOW YOUR DEALERS - - and their grading. We certainly hope you will find our own to be as described, or better.

**GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL BUYERS – IMPORTANT – MUST READ**

PAYMENTS    All payments are to be made by PayPal only. We have no desire to make profits on shipping, so we will strive for our shipping costs to track actual USPS shipping costs. We will assess shipping costs by actual WEIGHT of your purchase, for best accuracy.

PACKING & HANDLING  Your item(s) will be shipped with a tracking number, in a good quality cardboard LP mailer box, with sturdy cardboard packing pads, and a poly sleeve. Special requests can be accommodated sometimes, at an additional charge for the added materials and extra postage. IF YOU HAVE SPECIFIC PACKAGING REQUESTS  you must contact us BEFORE with them so that we will be able to assess what any additional shipping costs might be.

COMBINING PURCHASES  We gladly and automatically combine all your purchases (from a single auction) to save on shipping costs for you. This will be done automatically, when you receive your invoice from us, after the last auction item has completed.

PLEASE NOTE:  Ebay's seller-rating policies strongly discourage combining LPs from one auction with those of the next auction. Sellers who aspire to a "Top Seller" rating MUST now ship at least 95% of the total LPs sold within 24 hours after payment has been received. We treasure our "Top Seller" designation, and cannot, therefore, combine shipping for multiple auctions. We are sorry we cannot honor such requests, but once you pay us, we MUST - and WILL - ship quickly.

SHIPPING RATES AND POLICIES

BUYERS FROM OUTSIDE THE NORTH AMERICAN CONTINENT  -  SHIPPING RATES & POLICIES

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION - YOU MUST READ THIS SECTION BEFORE BIDDING

Import duties, taxes and fees are NOT included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.  Please check with your country's customs office to determine what, if any, these additional costs might be, prior to bidding.

Please do not ask us to alter values on customs forms - this is a violation of eBay rules and US federal law. TRUE VALUE must, and will, be stated on all expensive Priority Mail and Express Mail packages for insurance purposes, and to comply with all US and International shipping laws.

We offer you a choice between First Class International (see restrictions below), Priority Mail International, or Express International:

IF your package weighs less than 4 pounds and your total for LPs is less than $40 USD, you will have the option to choose First Class International. It is the most economical way to ship abroad, however, if you ship by First Class International, YOU SHIP AT YOUR OWN RISK! First Class International has NO tracking number, nor insurance, and it has been our experience that some packages shipped this way have taken as long as three MONTHS to arrive, yet a few others NEVER arrived AT ALL (NOTE: "Surface" Shipping from USPS no longer exists). First Class Int. is not possible above 4 pounds (approximately 4 single non-gatefold Lps, with packing), as it is intended for envelopes and small packets.

PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL  Although this method is more expensive than First Class, it comes with insurance and a tracking number. We have never lost a package which was shipped by this method, and we, therefore, strongly encourage you to choose this method, if the total value of your package is less than $100, USD.  IF your package is worth more than $100, we will only ship by Express International.

EXPRESS MAIL INTERNATIONAL   ALL purchases valued at over $100, USD, MUST ship by this method, for your protection, and ours. It is the best option we offer for overseas shipping, generally reaches you within approx. 3 days, and comes with full tracking and insurance protection.

APPROXIMATE INTERNATIONAL RATES:

FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL  For a single LP: $20;  for each of the next three, add $4 each

PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL  For a single LP, $42; for each additional LP, add $3 each

ORDERS WITH BOX SETS, AND EXPRESS MAIL ORDERS  Will be assessed by actual weight of your package, for best accuracy

BUYERS FROM CANADA:  First Class International: Single LP, $16; Two single LPs, or one double LP gatefold, $20; Three single LPs: $24  (NOTE: More than three LPs must be shipped by Priority Mail International)

PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL FOR CANADA:  Single LP, $34; Two single LPs, or 2 LP gatefold, $36; Three single LPs, $37; More than three LPs MUST be shipped by this method, and are charged at actual USPS cost, by weight & zone

BUYERS WITHIN THE UNITED STATES: You have a choice between Media Mail, and Priority Mail:

Media Mail is slower and more economical; it is usually pretty prompt, but at times, it can take several weeks to reach the west coast. This is especially true during the peak shipping season, of late November through December. Media Mail packages cede priority to every other class of mail, and only travel when there is room for them - - on the other hand, sometimes one gets a surprise, and they arrive as fast as Priority - - though this is not the norm. Our single LP Media Mail rates are published in each listing. More LPs will be weighed, and charged accurately and accordingly. We automatically combine shipping and charge actual USPS shipping rates.

PRIORITY MAIL WITHIN THE US  We offer an option to US buyers to upgrade to Priority Mail. These rates differ by zip code and zone. You can choose this option when paying, and your costs will be calculated at check-out.

RETURNS:  All Lps are described in good faith, to the best of our ability, but if you are dissatisfied with your purchase from us, we accept returns within thirty days of your receipt of the LP, no questions asked (with the exception of factory-sealed records, which we won’t accept once they have been opened).

We do NOT cover return shipping, except if we have shipped something to you IN ERROR.
