It's impossible to judge this record without viewing it as the final statement of Lemmy, who succumbed to cancer nearly a year ago after the incredible feat of making his uncompromising and full-throttle way through life for seventy years. Yet despite the temptation to read this album as a kind of last will and testament, the fact of the matter is that this man's passion and spirit for his chosen metier were undimmed right to the last, and one can scarcely imagine a more fitting way to bow out than 'Bad Magic', a salvo positively overloaded with thunderous charge and outlaw bravado.
