This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker,  New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.

 Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got throughout the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

SOUNDS GREAT
She does carry quite a few visible light needle marks-However, after playing the whole record through, I found: NO SKIPS OR JUMPS!!.
The album blasts out raw early Beatles with some occasional background noise in the quieter sections but not the run-ins. When the songs get going you don't really hear any-TURN HER UP!

FLAT, HEAVY, SHINY AND ALL ORIGINAL!


Labels: VG+. There is minimal central hole wear, as seen in the pictures. With light spindle marks.
 Other than that the labels stand out nice and clean, with no writing or rips.

These labels are getting harder to find as only a relatively small amount were pressed....

 Outer rim text starts with "The Parlophone Co.Ltd"
NO "Sold in UK..." and NO "Recording first published" stated under the printed matrix number.

Inner: VG-. It is the ORIGINAL USE EMITEX tracing paper-lined inner....
It has the very early text "PATENTS APPLIED FOR"
She carries only very light creasing as well as splits to two sides.

( These were produced at roughly a ratio of 1:10, compared to the usual Garrod & Lofthouse covers)
 There light wear to this cover, with only a few small spidering areas to the laminate and some fingers of spidering eminating from the seams..
The only other point to mention is some rubbing and knocking to the corners with tiny patches of each corner missing their print and with 3 small pin holes to 3 corners. I also noticed a small 5cm split to the bottom right corner at the opening-as pictured.
The EJ Day flipbacks remain intact.
To the back are 4 small pen marks next to the track listing of side 2-as you can see in the mages provided.
