THE MOVE (feat. Roy Wood & Jeff Lynne) - BBC Radio Sessions 1967-1970 2LP
Limited to 500 copies, DOUBLE black vinyl released in beautiful, laminated cover with cool pictures of the band. The Move were one of the very best (but still very underrated) British bands in the Sixties. In the beginning they played forceful pop, then psychedelic rock similar to The Who, The Yardbirds, The Byrds and Jimi Hendrix Experience and later on a very heavy music with some progressive elements.
This 118 minute album contains radio sessions (live in studio with some basic overdubs) taped by the BBC between January 1967 and July 1970. It contains plenty of fantastic covers unreleased on any band's studio album or single! Frankly speaking this is their best material (the best album) ever!
Most of the tracks were previously released on very rare BBC Transcription Service discs (released in late 60's for promotional purposes) and also were reissued recently on deluxe CD editions of first three The Move albums. PLEASE NOTE! Some tracks has longer intros or fade-outs (cut-off on official CD editions) and also some real gems like previously unreleased, an amazing version of 'Eight Miles High' (without horrible crackles) and the full, 7-minute version of 'She's A Woman'!
Each side contains almost 30 minutes of music but the pressing is just fantastic (no noises at all) and the sound quality is simply perfect.
