Released on yellow-and-red-swirl-coloured vinyl to go with the name, Sunshine Rock, is the 13th solo album from former Husker Du and Sugar frontman Bob Mould. An album dedicated to the colours and atmosphere of his current Berlin home, the LP is sonically distanced from the sound of his 2016 album Patch the Sky; Mould bringing the shine of his former California days trans-atlanta in a precursor of types for Europe's summer. Still very much punk in its essence, tracks like "What Do You Want Me To Do" hark back to the wonder years of bands like Pennywise, while there's still signs of resolute boisterousness in "I Fought". Overall, a stringy, uptempo album of raucous chords and summer haze to make you move.
