USA 5-LP vinyl record box set by The Velvet Underground titled "The Verve/MGM Albums".
Remastered reissue released in 2019 with new box art, mono and stereo, pressed on high quality vinyl.
Includes the rare mono versions of the VU’s first three albums, the superior mono version of Nico’s "Chelsea Girl" (featuring Reed, Cale & Morrison) and a definitive edition of the band’s unfinished fourth album, titled "1969".
Included are:
- "The Velvet Underground & Nico" (mono, originally released in 1966)
- "White Light/White Heat" (mono, originally released in 1968)
- "The Velvet Underground" (mono, originally released in 1969)
- Nico "Chelsea Girls" (mono, originally released in 1967)
- "1969" (stereo, originally planned for late 1969 release but was not released until this compilation in 2012).
Housed in a beautiful deluxe box with all original LP artwork along with two bonus poster inserts. Introduction by Rolling Stone senior editor/MOJO contributor David Fricke.
Sourced from the original Verve/MGM analog reels and mastered by Bob Irwin.
New mint factory sealed with info sticker on shrink wrap.
