PLEASE SEE MY OTHER CAREFULLY CURATED LPS FOR SALE:
Title: The Firebird (complete ballet) Artist(s): Stravinsky, Dorati w/ London Symphony Orchestra Label: Mercury Living Presence Stereo Catalog: SR 90226 Stampers: RFR 1/1
Disc: VG+ Cover: G (please see photos)
Notes: Early RFR 1/1 pressing. Only listing due to the rarity and desirability of this work. Suggest this is only for highly dedicated collectors. There are light hairlines on both sides, which result in non-repeating but fairly consistent surface noise. I don't find this distracting, as it is most noticeable during the very quiet portions (which there are several). By the time the whole orchestra is in full swing, I don't notice the hairlines. On side 1, there is a 1 inch repeating scratch near the end. It is a consistent light tick. Not so loud as to take you out of the music, but noticeable--especially if listening for it. There is a long surface mar on side 2 which to my ears is is inaudible. It looks much worse than it sounds. So again, just the random surface noise ticks from the hairlines. As you know, classical LPs can be very dynamic, and so I would rate the play as VG+ to VG++ when the orchestra is full, but the visual condition is only VG
