LOVELY CONDITION TOO


This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

The Vinyl:

Only marked down due to a handful of very light visible marks to each of the vinyl discs...however..After listening to her ALL THE WAY THROUGH, I only found only some INCREDIBLY light and ONLY occasional background noise: There were 4 light pops at the start of track 1, side 1, with very light crackle inbetween a couple of tracks, only occasionally noticed in the quieter sections. Strangely there was a 2 second drop out on Julia...not sure why as I couldn't see any offending mark.
The audio on the more instrumental side 4 is wonderfully clear...Just a little light crackle on the final track: 'Good Night' but nothing offensive at all.

The Labels:

 All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
There are only A FEW, very light spindle marks to each label, these can only be seen when angling towards the light....And particularly looking for them !

Next to NO HOLE WEAR at all!

"Mfd in the U.K." to each of the labels.
KT Tax code to sides 1 & 4 (which is quite unusual in itself).

NUMBERED: 0083496 It is an EARLY first run, with TOP loading.
 Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold
The spine remains strong and clear, with barely any rubbing and remains legible.
Superb cover-creamy white, with only a small line of spidering to the bottom right corner of around 5cm, With just a few very small fingers of spidering emanating from the seams of this glorious laminated gatefold cover!
The bottom seam on the front gatefold has some rubbing to the bottom which is almost all the way through but not quite.
!!MAGICAL!!
SIMPLY LOVELY CONDITION

Correct MONO cover as it doesn't have the printing of  Stereo to the back top right.
GLORIOUS and clean on the inside of the gatefold.

AGAIN, I AM BEING INCREDIBLY CRITICAL!!!

Inners:

 Original BLACK inners. They are both well looked after.
Just carry some gentle feathering to their openings.
One has some tearing to the window and the other has a very small tear too. The bottom seam of one is split and the other is rubbed for about 4cm, just going through the seam.

THEY ARE ALL ORIGINAL-NOT REPRO!

They DON'T have any pin-holes around their edges...Which was quite typical for the Beatles fans to pin their beau's up on their bedroom wall.
