"...in my all-important role as 'Sex' shop layabout 1974-1976, it was my self-appointed duty to sit around and do nothing except be snide about everyone who came into the shop and continually play my favourite 20 records on the jukebox over and over again, until Jordan or Michael could stand no more and pulled the plug out of the wall..."

So says self-confessed Ne'er-do-well , Siouxsie & the Banshees and Adam & the Ants member Marco Pirroni, curator of this compilation comprising music played at boutique store SEX, which was run by Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood on London's King's Road in the mid-1970s. One look at the track list is enough - packed with twangy rock 'n' roll, lovelorn country, early-Alice Cooper guitar genius, raw-throated soul, and British Invasion-era comedy pop, giving some idea as to what day-to-day life would have been like in this provocative corner of the UK capital way back when.
