Industrial/Noise
Considered by many to be the most influential noise artist of all time, anything Merzbow - AKA Tokyo born Dadaist and surrealist Masami Akita - carries significant weight with particular communities. And it's those heads this very special package is aimed squarely at; the folk who will want to know the artist himself was responsible for splitting the 74-minutes of sound here into four distinct parts.
It's certainly a full-on and uncompromising place, filled with distortions, reverberations and angry, demanding harshness. Suggestions of rhythm, nods to beats, and discordant half (quarter?) harmonies come in and out of earshot, weapons attacking the listener from all directions. The final result is a disorientating and rousing assault on the senses, like moving a full blown sonic installation from gallery into your front room.
