Donny Benet is a great case in point for why musical comedy - or at least wit in music - is still alive and well. Anachronistic Australian post-disco oddity Donny has made a name for himself through genuinely smile-inducing pop-tinged floor fillers mixed with overtly suggestive and funkily funny wordplay. Throw in his thoroughly retro look, and you've got a recipe for something truly memorable.

Originally unveiled in 2018, The Don sees the performer giving the likes of Chilly Gonzales a run for their money in terms of pure entertainment performances, with anthems like 'Santorini' and 'Night In Rome' defining the overall sound. Polished to the point of being slick, it's resolutely emotional in the way all good pop is, and while never forgetting to keep a little tongue in cheek that's secondary to the quality of the actual productions.
