Japanese label Rock A Shacka's release of the Studio One compilation Pirates Choice II is a another well assembled one. Across 12 tracks all selected by Masaya Hayashi, the set is a rather long in the making continuation of 1981 released Pirates Choice by Studio One. It's packed with mostly rare tunes such as Al Campbell & FreddieMcGregor's 'Born A Freeman' and dub plate mixes of Freddie McGregor's 'Home Ward Bound'. A famous dub killer dub plate 'Instrumental' by the Brentford Rockers is also well worth owning. It all comes with extra context courtesy of liner notes written by Steve Barrow.
