Jamaican group The Maytals are rightly and widely regarded as one of the key rocksteady and ska groups of their generation. The now late frontman Toots Hibbert was an iconic figure in his own right and he wrote a fine arsenal of tunes during his time in prison. After that time he got in the studio with brilliant producer Leslie Kong and some of the best results from the sessions are include don this record. 'Monkey Man' was covered by the last Amy Winehouse and 'Pressure Drop' is another fine and standout tune that still bangs. The quality of this band and penmanship of the songs still shines through.
