Celebrated downtempo craftsman Mark Rae (of Rae & Christian fame) is to release his debut novel soon. It is called The Caterpillar Club, and this 14 track collection of instrumentals is the soundtrack for it. The book is his second after a 2016 autobiography, Northern Sulphuric Soulboy, and is about a DJ facing an identity crises with questions posed such as can we reinvent ourselves and embrace forgiveness. While we cannot comment on the book itself, we can say the music is lush. It's accessible, joyous synth, pop, ambient and chill out with strong melodies and deep beats that makes for a great listen.
