Febt Plates have prepared some fresh, marbled vinyl editions of some of the most sought-after EPs from their bulging back catalogue. The latest to get this treatment is Johann Healing AKA Sorrow's first outing for the imprint, 2019's Carpe Noctern. It's a pleasingly relaxed and musically intricate affair, with the Bristol-based producer effortlessly joining the dots between echoing ambient, head-nodding deep dubstep, R&B-sampling blissfulness, deep two-step garage and hard-to-pigeonhole wooziness. While there are cuts that you could happily play in the club, the joy of the set is its immersive, eyes-closed feel, making it far more suitable for horizontal home listening.
