MINT (M) - Indicates a perfect and flawless condition! There is no sign of use on the cover, label or the record itself. Pristine unplayed archive copy!
NEAR MINT (NM) - Virtually flawless copy that has been rarely played but shows hardly any signs of use. This is the best condition for a used record. Buying a Near Mint record meant you should never feel you´d have to upgrade to a better condition copy.
EXCELLENT (EX) - Record has only a few light (non-sounding) marks and has been well preserved. There is very little lessening in sound quality. Cover or box has slightly more wear than NM;
VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) - Most common condition for a used record - has been played and shows signs of wear like surface marks or stains which shouldn`t affect playback more than causing a very light surface noise, if anything. If you’ve come across a VG+ record, you’ve found a solid investment. The cover has signs of wear around the edges and/or seams, but no major damage
VERY GOOD (VG) - A record that is good enough. They are not really going to look very good, but it will STILL play very good. there will almost always be some surface noise when they are played. The Dynamics should still be excellent, overpowering the surface noise. Cover or box may have ring wear, seam splits, writing and general wear or tear.
GOOD (G) - A record in Good condition can be played through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present.
FAIR (F) - Rating reflects a vinyl of poor condition. Discs with these ratings often have major noise issues. They skip, repeat and reveal scratching noises often. If you purchase vinyl with F rating, expect badly warped material. Frequently, these records are cracked or have deep scratches. Their covers are either badly damaged or destroyed completely.
