Tim Maia is one of Rio's most enduring soul-funk legends. Part of the reason for that is the vast amount of music he put out - there are something like 30 odd full-lengths in his back catalogue, many of them with very similar if not exactly identical names. His seventh album, the self-titled Tim Maia, was released 1976 and is one of his most popular. Original pressings have gone for huge sums in the past and it's no wonder as this is the sound of a man who was really getting into his groove and own singular sound.
