Reissued and remastered 18 years after its first release, 'Neon City' is the debut LP by Erik K Skodvin and Otto A Totland, who together form the moody electronica duo project Deaf Center. Built on a mutual affinity for vintage hardware and the better rounded edges of electroacoustic, improvised darkjazz music, 'Neon City' has all the moodiness and atmosphere endemic to music from Norway, and flaunts what two then 20-year-olds could pull of while in their creative prime. Laden with old film samples and blue noted piano and guitar tinkles, there is a proto-Burialesque mood to this album, which otherwise shows off a clear and taut electro-improv palette and production style. On this edition, Keith Keniff aka. Helios comes through with a fresh remix of the opener 'Dial'.
