Ska-pop-punk mainstays, Less Than Jake, garnered their share of flack for the conscious shift into a more nuanced style of slow ska on their sixth full-length, 'In With The Out Crowd'. Working with producer Howard Benson who helmed the seminal, 'Hello Rockview', the band were encouraged to lessen their brass-heavy approach and look to influences both obvious (The Specials) and more outsider (Foo Fighters), to craft an independent work that, ultimately, rendered some members proud and others remorseful. With this imminent reissue, the project pines for well-deserved reappraisal.
