Sometime Depeche Mode man Alan Wilder man some stunning electronic works as Recoil. Their home label Mute has been studiously reissuing them of late and now it is the turn of Unsound Methods. Recoil became Wilder primary music focus once he left the Mode in 1995 and that was no bad thing as this album proves - it was recorded in his home studio and features some top guests such as Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb, Siobhan Lynch and New York spoken word artist and poet Maggie Estep. The music is dark and atmospheric throughout.
