Roll up, roll up all ye Beatles fans....Here's The Beatles' YELLOW SUBMARINE....
This was The Beatles' eleventh official album release and interestingly enough, the first album of theirs to included non-Beatles material. Released, after a delay, in mid January 1969 the album made it up the UK charts to the 3rd position....With The Beatles' 'White' album denying it the top slot.
There were only modest sales-in comparison with other Beatles releases-as the sales were around 800,000 within the first three months, but it did go over 1 million sales by the end of the year. This could have had something to do with the album having only four original tracks and the rest was George Martin's film score.

So, here are the details of this album up for auction:

QUALITY 145g HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL
VG(+)
 There are many light marks to this glorious heavyweight slab of vinyl, but NONE make her jump or skip :)
After giving her a gentle professional vacuum clean, I have just played her all the way through and found a deep and rich sound reproduction, yes with background crackle, but I think this adds to it's authenticity as well as NOT being offensive.
 Flat, heavy, all original and in glorious MONO!

 She has the all important statement "Sold in the U.K...." showing it is a first press as well as "Mfd. in U.K."...If you needed any more convincing other than those
 LOVELY EARLY MOTHERS/STAMPERS.
Nice dark apple, rather than the later lighter ones.
Light spindle marks, mainly visible when angled towards the light-but would not be seen if framed.


THIS VINYL REPRESENTS EXACTLY HOW THE BEATLES WANTED YOU TO  HEAR THIS ICONIC ALBUM.
Very displayable...Very playable ;-)

 It is the original cover with the Garrod & Lofthouse statement to the back.
 It does have the two red lines above and below the text to the back. The back card has some slight discolouration as can be seen in the detailed images provided.
The flipbacks are in wonderfully strong condition, with the lovely rounded edges, with just minimal discolouration.
The cover is the early cream cover, rather than the next printing of more white and darker grey for the 'hill' on which The Beatles are standing.
There is some knocks/rubbing to the corners.
As well as crescents/lines of spidering to the laminate, with some small fingers of spidering eminating from the seams.
Excellently strong LEGIBLE spine.

There is some very faint discoloration due to ageing-don't we all?!

All in all it is a VERY rare, VERY early pressing of a wonderful album.
