I Got This Role is DDT's fifth album, released in 1989. The first album of the Leningrad line-up of the group and the first legally released album of the group.

In the next few years, the album sold an unprecedented two and a half million copies for that time.

The musicians themselves called the album "Greatest Hits" of the group at that time, because it included several songs from old albums, re-recorded in a professional studio with musicians from St. Petersburg, and four new, St. Petersburg, Shevchuk's songs ("Terrorist", "Conveyor" , "Church" and "Revolution").

Muratov, Chernov and Lyapin perform here as session musicians. The first two became permanent members of the group a year later, and Lyapin became one of DDT's close friends. Igor Tikhomirov also helped in the studio for the first time. Although the rough sketches of the bass guitar he recorded for the song "Poet" were not included in the album, they helped to assemble an interesting part of the psychedelic "wandering" bass.

Unlike other rock club groups, DDT was recorded not by Andrey Tropillo at the LDM studio, but by Yuri Morozov at the Leningrad Recording Studio.

Shevchuk: "Our first plastic record. The songs included in it are from various "underground" albums "Pig on the Rainbow" 1982, "Compromise" 1983, "Periphery" 1984, "Time" 1985. In short, this disc is a collection of songs from different times and peoples, the most key, expensive or something songs. A wonderful girl Tatyana Markelova, who then worked at Melodiya, produced, that is, "broke through" it. The director of the then Leningrad branch of Melodiya, Comrade Golubovsky, graciously agreed, but on one condition: we completely waive the royalties ... This first swallow of ours sold over a million copies. That's why we called her "Golden".

Record is in excellent condition, saved in original sleeve
