Funky Dividends is a label that aims only to preserve classic hip-hop gold as it is - they don't do remixes or edits or mash-ups, they just present stone-cold heat. The label has done so before when it comes to The East Flatbush Project, but each and every time the music sells out so this is a reissue of their clastic-era and golden boom bap gem 'A Madman's Dream'. The snares hit crisp, the bass swings down low and the bars are fresh, with distant flutes adding some mystery. On the flip is the slightly more raw 'Can't Hold It Back.' Two essential hip-hop tunes from the halcyon days.
