Wobbly and garbly post-rock ephemera bubbles up from underneath the surface of mundanity on this new, gluttonous masterpiece from John Dwyer, Ryan Sawyer, and Andres Renteria, teaming up for the LP known as Posh Swat. It's an ironic name, as the album really does sound like a well-mannered SWAT team bursting through our doors, slickly combining polite jazz instrumentation with rude, vicelike electronics. John Dwyer was once a professional skateboarder and Ryan Sawyer has played drums for artists like Thurston Moore and At The Drive-In, but none of this might be immediately gleanable from this unmatchably wacky record, which recalls the lesser-known work of This Heat.
