English post-punk band Killing Joke were already assured legend of the game by 2006 when they dropped Hosannas from the Basements of Hell, their twelfth studio long player. It's a heavy mix of rock and industrial metal styles and was recorded in 'Hell' aka a dark basement studio in Prague. The studio's extensive range of vintage analogue gear is what lends the record much of its mood and texture and this was the last record to feature Pauly Raven, the bassist who passed a year later. The record got widespread critical acclaim from fans and writers alike who admired it wild sense of frenzy.
