British anarcho/aggro/noise punk might never move beyond Crass in some musical historians' leather-bound thesis, but make no mistake, Rudimentary Peni were just as vital, and arguably uglier than their profound peers.
This self-titled 7" onslaught would be the dishevelled introduction for many to a style, sound, aesthetic and ethos all designed to make you grimace with bewilderment.
Best of luck finding a track here that makes it past the one minute mark. Cuts like the venomous 'Teenage Time Killer' or the hyper cynical 'Media Person' serve as inspiring proof of the weaponised genre no one seemed to realise they had on their hands. A lesson in how one death of punk birthed another sickly form.
