Some records become hugely expensive because they are rare, others because they are brilliant, and sometimes you get a record that is both. This is that record, a beautiful and strange mix of East and West rhythms filled with joy that now get repressed with an authentic flip back sleeve and full colour artwork reproduction. Joe Harriott & Amancio D'Silva Quartet's comprised a sax player from Jamaica, a Mumbai guitarist and special guests like Norma Winstone on improvised wordless vocals. This session was recorded in 1969 at the peak of the British jazz sound and makes for addictive listening.
