Joe Bussard made these tapes. There are 46 of them, with over 1,300 songs. I’d like to find them a new home.
Long story short: A family friend reached out to Joe several years ago and asked if he would create/record a collection of cassettes from his 78 collection, documenting the history of Country Blues & Hillbilly music. Not only did Joe agree/deliver, he sent a large number of cassettes with over 1,300 recordings. They are all labelled & numbered. Each cassette includes a typed, by Joe on his typewriter, label & track listing on a small piece of paper inside each cassette (see pic for example).
I think these cassettes are an absolute treasure. I haven't seen any others like them. To my knowledge, some of these are the only recordings, made by Joe, of a lot of these songs. Happy to answer any/all questions. Thanks for looking!
