As Tokyo Prose, Sam Reed has been flying the flag for liquid d&b in New Zealand for a long time now. He's graced some of the biggest labels in the game, from Samurai to The North Quarter, Hospital to Soul:r, and now he's back with a new drop for LSB's Footnotes label. As you might expect, Three Colour Portrait is shaped out by the crispest of d&b drums and sumptuous melodic content, but Reed knows how to edge some individuality into his take on the liquid tradition. There's an understated poise to the title track, while 'Culprit' hits a subtle, melancholic note which will keep the track lingering in your mind for a long time to come.
